Sportsvite is an online community that allows users to organize activities around sports and connect with other players for league teams, pick-up games, and sports/activity groups.

Sportsvite combines sports-specific targeted search and member profiles with user-friendly invitation and game management tools. Members can also keep track of stats and future games, send out email invitations, and maintain their schedule for their teams in leagues or casual pick-up games. Sportsvite is and always will be a free service for our members.

Sportsvite was born out of the frustration of its founders as they attempted to continue their athletic careers into adulthood. With the hustle and bustle of New York City it seemed almost impossible for them to organize a game and then have everybody actually show up at the right field at the right time. In July 2005 the first release of Sportsvite was launched. [1]

Sportsvite full-featured release was launched in the spring of 2006 with over 10,000 members active on the site. The most popular regions for Sportsvite members are New York City, the Bay Area, Chicago, Boston, San Diego, Austin and Denver.

Sportsvite is a joint venture of 212 Media and OpenEvolve Inc, and is located in Midtown Manhattan on Madison Avenue.

In 2006, Sportsvite was named as a Webby Award official honoree.[1]
