Geody is a geographic search engine to look for locations on Earth (over 6 million places), the Moon, Mars, Venus, Mercury, and Space (stars of the Hipparcos catalogue).
Users can search for the name of a place or a coordinate, or can click on the map, and search results will be linked to Google Earth, NASA World Wind, Celestia, Google Maps, MapQuest, and users can see the sky above such spot using Stellarium. Search results also offer links to relevant searches in Google, AltaVista, Yahoo!, A9, Wikipedia, Flickr and Confluence.org. Geody can export a location to a GPX file to see it on a GPS device.
Looking for a place also returns a list of places near the searched location. Users can contribute to the database uploading their own pictures.
